The study surveyed 2,400 active Canadian players and found a 35% year-over-year increase in the playtime of live games like Blackjack and Baccarat. Only 24% of respondents still prefer RNG-only game formats.

Increasing trust is driving this shift. The Casinoble data shows 52% of players now explicitly cite trust in the game outcome as a leading factor in choosing live games over RNG. Fast and secure direct deposit and withdrawal is another key expectation. Paysafe found that 37% of players now identify streamlined payout as their top criterion for choosing a bookmaker in 2024, and a 2025 global study identified fast withdrawals as the top priority for 34% of all online bettors.

Mobile access is also key. Casinoble reports that 72% of live game enthusiasts now exclusively access through mobile, up 45% from its 2024 survey and leading to greater engagement with immersive live dealer experiences.

Local and alternative payment methods are accelerating this shift. Paysafe’s research shows that 58% of Canadians expect to use alternative options like eCash, Interac, and credit-based ePayment more in 2025. Government-verified Interac options are the most preferred, with 19% of players leveraging Interac e-Transfer for all transactions. Given that fast withdrawals are the most critical factor for 45% of surveyed Canadians, licensed casinos competing for loyalty prioritize verification and speed for Interac transfers, which can process withdrawals in under 30 minutes.

Paysafe's 2025 survey states 50% of Canadian players are interested in cryptocurrencies, anticipating further regulatory support. Crypto withdrawals have advantages: specific cases have recorded 5-10 minute processing, compared to 3-15 hours for bank transfers.

Payout speed and options have become non-negotiable

That is why operational performance on withdrawals is now a regulatory focus in Ontario. The AGCO regulator requires operators to have documented targets for payout processing times and mandates reporting within 24 hours if payments exceed these targets. If genuinely disputed requests are escalated, iGaming Ontario can intervene to release funds to players within 48 hours. With payout speed now the make-or-break factor, casinos must invest in fast alternate payment rails.

The continued strong preference for live casino games is key - Playtech, Evolution Group and Authentic Gaming all saw strong returns in Q3 2024. Paysafe flagged their EPOS integration as core to growth, enabling franchises and bookmakers to deploy those games within trust constraints.

Canadian players are increasingly willing to switch to platforms combining immersive live-dealer experiences with the fastest verifiable payouts. Operators must allocate tech spend accordingly: mobile performance investments, integrated multi-rail payments, and effective consumer support for everything from gameplay to verified withdrawals.
